Christmas time brings a flood of memories for us all, and I am sure we can all agree that milk and cookies for Santa are a common theme. This year, we’ve fallen in love with a new tradition. A gourmet cookie + flavored milk pairing. Yes, certainly to share with Santa, but perhaps even more so for the rest of us! Chefs and bloggers have been creating and sharing these combinations for the past few weeks. Here are a few of our favorites that we’re trying around the Eat Y’all kitchen this holiday season! Whitney Miller’s Coffee Milk Tea + Brownie Cookies
Whitney Miller, winner of the first season of Masterchef on FOX, Florida resident and native Mississippian, certainly wows us again and again with her rich Southern Classics – and these Brownie Cookies are no exception. We were, however, pleasantly delighted by her refreshingly light combination of milk, green tea and coffee to go along with them, which she aptly named, Coffee Milk Tea.

Traditional sugar cookies with the richness of a bourbon milk punch is a great way to start a silent night.

Her website is filled with old fashioned favorites for Christmas, and these recipes for Old Fashioned Boiled Custard with an eggnog base and Italian Anise Cookies happen to be some of the best we’ve tried.

Nikki Gladd from Seeded at the Table wins the prize for the very best biscotti recipe we’ve discovered this season. Biscotti is a twice baked cookie best enjoyed after dipping it in a hot drink. We guarantee that you won’t be able to resist this take on gingerbread. These are also perfect wrapping individually and giving as small gifts. Also, if you’ve ever wanted that rich milk froth on top of your favorite coffee or espresso, but don’t happen to own a milk steamer, you will love Nikki’s tips for a DIY milk froth.
